Appleonia will be performing her New York debut on Thursday the 16th of May at 11pm at The Living Room. She will premiere material from her latest collaboration with Canadian musician Adam Van Wielingen. Together they have written a collection of songs called “The Shattering”, a sparse, dark, punk project inspired by mysterious cosmic forces. Poster art by New York based artist Matt Huynh.
Appleonia will be opening for and performing with Ben Lee for his Los Angeles and New York shows. These shows are the very first performances debuting the record Ben and Appleonia wrote together called “Ayahuasca: Welcome to the Work”, an exciting experimental new album due out in the US on 14th May 2013. Today is the official Australain release of Appleonia and Ben Lee’s collaboration, “Ayahuasca: Welcome to the Work”. Below is a trailer about the album and how it came to be.

Appleonia will be performing a solo set, as well as singing alongside Ben Lee for his forthcoming Australian east coast tour. The shows will celebrate the launch of Ben’s new record, “Ayahuasca: Welcome to the Work”, which was co-created by Ben and Jessica, with Appleonia featuring as

Appleonia and musician Nadav Kahn have written two pop tunes for two short plays that are part of the the True West season of “A view from Moving Windows”. Specifically written for True West, the production is a collection of pieces by nine dynamic Sydney playwrights, each inspired by train travel. Directed by Augusta Supple, “A View from Moving Windows” opens October 18th 2012 at the Riverside Theatre in Parramatta. If you are in Sydney, come check it out. Earlier this year, Appleonia & Ben Lee began a conversation about a record they both wanted to make together. Before they knew it, these conversations turned into soundscapes, sounds and songs that they wrote and recorded simultaneously and often spontaneously in Lee’s home studio. The film “Despite the Gods” had it’s world premiere today in Canada, and to celebrate, Appleonia’s single from the film is out today on itunes. Translated from Hindi to English, “My Wanderer” is a cover of a famous 1950′s Bollywood song called “Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi”, which featured in the cult classic Hindi hit “Awara”, directed by Raj Kapoor. Appleonia and Nadav Kahn have been busy composing the score for the Jennifer Lynch biopic “Despite the Gods”. Today the film was announced as part of the official selection of Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival! This will be the film’s world premiere.
